The other day my Mom asked me, "What do you do all day?"
I told her: "Look for a job."
Her response? "Oh."
Like she didn't believe a word I was saying.
So, I told her about my typical day.
I get up around 9:00, after she's gone to work, turn on the computer, use the bathroom while the Dell From Hell boots up and then set myself down at it for a while, trawling job sites.
I check the usual suspects, looking for anything that I'm qualified for and/or am interested in.
I check the local newspaper sites, because sometimes they'll have jobs posted there that don't make it to CareerBuilder or Monster.
If I find something interesting, I apply.
This usually eats up about two to three hours of the day.
Then I take a break; I read some webcomics, watch some porn, have a snack, before powering up the laptop and trying to work on the novel.
This usually lasts till about 2:00, when Mom comes home and makes so much noise that I can't concentrate on my writing.
The rest of the day/night is spent in quite longing for a halfway decent job so I can get my own place.
And that's how I spend my days.
