Big Day in Court

I just testified in a murder trial.
I don't think I've mentioned it on here before because, well, thinking about it made me a little uneasy. So, the less I thought about it the happier I would be. At least, in theory.
Now, I didn't actually witness a murder or anything, I just took a call at the Job of Doom from the murderer. So my testimony was all about the phone call.
The guy admitted to shooting the victim, not just to me, but to a local news channel too. I think the news channel had audio recordings of the murderer's confession. Or at least his protests that their news desk was calling him a 'fugitive' when he was really a poor, misunderstood victim.
Did I mention the part where the defendant shot his victim five times in the groin?
No?
Yeah, well, I didn't learn that bit myself until a few weeks ago. Or that the reason he confronted the victim was because the victim had gotten his girlfriend strung out on drugs.
Heh.
Can you say love triangle gone bad?
Anywho, I got suited up(an experience that I loathe) and went down to the court house this morning. I think it took me longer to get to the court house than it did to testify.
It was all very anticlimactic.
Not at all good drama.
At least, not from my perspective.
Probably damn riveting from the defendant's table.
I'm just glad its over with.

DC20: Graveside Service

A while back, while brainstorming with the lovely prof_h, I started writing some fic following the exploits of the children of the current DC Universe heroes and villains. This uni was dubbed DC20, because it was set 20 years into the future. One of my favorite characters was Kimera, the daughter of Wonder Woman. I've been giving some thought lately to returning to the DC20 Uni, and, well, here's a small offering of what it was like.
