(no subject)

Yesterday was my birthday.
I turned 45.
I had some wine and some cake and then didn't do anything more exciting than listen to BBC4 via the iPlayer.
So far this new year has been a bit anticlimactic. I was expecting . . . I don't know. Something more than what I've gotten so far.
This year just feels like it's going to be more significant somehow.
Perhaps that's just me, projecting my desires on it.
Who knows?
Work at the Shop continues. Next month I will have been there three years.
Wow. How did that happen?
I still like working there, but I'm casually looking for something else as well. I'd like to get a job with some benefits. And, to be honest, a little more money wouldn't hurt either.
Still looking to rent out the spare bedroom. Lots of nibbles last month, but nothing panned out. Have had a guy emailing me today but he says he's in Atlanta and will be relocating to Columbia. I'm not sure, but I'm thinking 'scammer.'
Eh. He gave me a phone number. I'll give him a call this evening and see what his deal is.
