GREEN LANTERN
The Green Lantern, an occult artifact that has existed for centuries. Some say millenia. It glows with an unearthly light that no one can explain. The lantern has appeared throughout history, held by the famous and the infamous. During World War Two, Hitler sought it with a special fervor.
The last person to possess the lantern was Allen Scott. With his murder, the lantern came, quite by accident, into the possession of a young Chinese-American violinist named Michelle Song.
Michelle had no idea what the lantern was until her apartment was broken into and she was attacked by the monstrosity called Solomon Grundy. As Michelle fought for her life, she picked up the lantern and smashed it across Grundy's face.
For the first time in centuries, the lantern flared. There was an explosion of emerald flame and light. Michelle Song was consumed in that occult firestorm and transformed, all of her fears and insecurities burned away in a blaze of glory.
Solomon Grundy was not so fortunate. He simply burned. But before he died, he warned Michelle that she had not seen the last of him, nor the one he served. The last word he uttered was a name, "Sinestro."
Now, Michelle Song is the Green Lantern, host and wielder to vast power. And even though her old fears may have been swept away, she'll soon have to confront new fears and dangerous enemies.
