Today has been a Bad Day.
It did not start off as a Bad Day, but spontaneously metamorphosed into one shortly after 2:00 PM when I got word that a friend had died.
Larry was a nice guy.
We'd kept in touch, off and on, for the past fifteen years. He was part of the group I ran around with, when I was living in Washington, D.C. He drove me nuts, he exasperated me, and he made me laugh.
Now he's gone.
I'm driving up to Virginia this Friday to attend a memorial service on Saturday. I was planning on going up to Virginia anyway, in a couple of months, to visit, but now I'm going early.
I just wish it was for another reason.
Godspeed, Larry.
You'll be missed.
