So, I've been in Florida since Monday and, so far, my reaction to the Sunshine State has been, "Eh." I mean, it hasn't been a bad trip, it just hasn't been particularly noteworthy. I spent the last two days wandering around the Emerald Coast, which is pretty in its way, but all the towns remind me of outdoor shopping malls. Plus, the scenic route, as advertised in various brochures, was anything but. That said, the white sand beaches and greenish-blue water was very pretty. It would have been prettier if every other person I spoke with didn't have some wierd summer bug. Also, finding a hotel between Destin and Panama City was a challenge. There's a big motorcycle convention happening in Panama Beach this weekend and the place is filling up quick.
Ah well. Heading back east now, along I-10, and am thinking I will visit St. Augustine's. Did Amelia Island and Fernadina Beach, which were okay, but kind of white trash.
Oh, and so far, the only cute person I've seen, has been the guy in the mirror. I mean, I know it's the off-season and all, but Gods of the Beach, throw me a bone here! Some eyecandy would be much appreciated.
