Today, I began to paint my living room.
When I moved into this townhouse, last November, the one room that I really didn't like was the living room. It was nice and roomy, but the carpet was crappy and the previous owners had painted the walls an awful brown color. Shit brown, if I'm being frank.
I'm not a fan of brown furnishings and, how on Earth do you even come up with the idea for brown paint? It boggles my mind.'
Since the kitchen and bedroom pretty much flatlined my bank accounts, I'm doing the painting myself. Did I mention that I'm not a great painter? My technique is awful. I tend to put too much paint on the roller and then spread it out, too thinly, on the wall.
However, since this is just primer I'm putting up, I wasn't too concerned with covering every goddamn inch of wall. Nope, I just covered as much space as I could with a gallon of paint and said, "Good enough for government work."
Still, I'm rather pleased with how todays work has turned out. The walls are looking pretty good. I'm sort of tempted to just leave the primer up and say to hell with it. But I really want to paint the far wall a pretty shade of green. And maybe paint the other walls a nice pale yellow. Or peach. Peach would be nice.
And then? Then I think I'll be done with the place and I can scout around on Craigslist and liquidation sales for a cheap ass couch.
