I had a bit of a nonsurprise at work this weekend. Former coworker, Miss Kitty, will be rejoining the fold. She left the shop about a year ago to work at a veterinarian's office. I suspected that she would be back, but thought it would be sooner. The only job she's ever had has been at the shop and she can wrap the owner and manager around her little finger most of the time. Of course, she was going to be back.
More of a surprise was the return of Muffin. Muffin was 17 when he worked at the Shop and now he's back in town. He came by today to see if we'd be interested in hiring him for a second job. I told him that since we just rehired Miss Kitty it was doubtful there'd be anything going for him, but it never hurt to ask. Then I suggested he apply at the new comic shop that just opened in town.
And that's pretty much been work this week. Oh! And there was a guy who came in and started to physically weep about Christopher Reeve as Superman.
Off work, I just got in from Game Night.
Tonight, I think, was a bit of a turning point for our group. We have this young guy who is really nice, but he plays all of his characters the same way. They all end up trying to kill themselves at some point, in stupid ways.
Tonight, he was going to rejoin the party, but the way he played pissed the rest of us off. So when we found his character and he did his usual bullshit, we left him in the cage to die.
Humor has its place in tabletop rpg, but some of us like to play a bit more seriously. Y'know?
