So, I've been working on a 3d6 tabletop RPG. It's a Medieval Fantasy setting with 16 classes. It's been a lot of fun to work on. It has engaged my mind and allowed me to actually write some stuff that I didn't want to automatically delete after rereading it.
The biggest hurdle has been the math. I never was good at math so having to figure out percentage rolls for 3d6s and how that would influence gameplay has been a real pain in the butt.
I want to create a system that people can pick up quickly, that isn't rules heavy and that people could play with whatever they've got to hand, dice-wise. I've actually had people tell me that they think a d20 is intimidating. Really.
I think I've gone as far as I can by myself. I think I need to print out what I've got and see if I can get some folks to playtest it with me around a table.
I dunno. That's pretty damn scary.
Anwyay, that's what I've been working on. That, and watching gothy-type videos on YouTube, interspersed with English Heritage videos on Victorian Cooking and random horror movie kill count videos.
