Been almost a week since my last update. In that time, I've finished reading George R. Martin's Wildcards: Busted Flush, had a nice little minivacation and managed to produce a new chapter in my Trekfic after a two month hiatus.
With that said, if anyone's looking for a good read, I'd really recommend the new Wildcard books. The current one catches up with The Committee aces, who went to work for the U.N. in the last book, and introduces a slew of new aces. What I really like about the Wildcard books, though, are the facets of the AU that really stand out. Like the fact that the west is so starved for gasoline that people are abandoning their cars in the street, that a Kennedy is President, that Hilary Rodham is the Attorney General and Harry Connick is the mayor of New Orleans. Hee!
