I got my second Covid vaccination this past Tuesday. I went in around 230 that afternoon and felt okay most of the day. I started to feel tired after sundown and went to bed early for me, before midnight. I woke up later with a fever, chills and body ache. After adjusting the blankets on the bed, I went back to sleep. When I woke up on Wednesday, I still had a mild fever and some body ache, but the biggest symptom was a sort of general lassitude.
So, I just sat around on Wednesday and watch television.
I took a nap midafternoon(which made me feel like an old person) and when I woke up my appetite had returned. I order a pizza from Marco's and by 10PM that night I felt pretty much back to normal.
Today, I feel fine. My arm isn't even sore where I got the shot.
Anyway, in two weeks, the immunity should kick in. Even afterwards though I'm still going to be wearing a mask in public and doing reasonable social distancing. The CDC still isn't sure if folks who have been vaccinated can still carry the virus and possibly transmit it to other people without catching it themselves. So, I'm being responsible.
I just wish everyone else out there felt the same. It's amazing and disheartening to go out and see the number of folks who have just abandoned masks because they've got pandemic fatigue or because they've gotten their shots and don't care if they could still be carriers.
