Yes, apparently someone, somewhere has declared June 1st to be World U.F.O. Day. As if that isn't strange enough, have you heard the story about the bees? Not the ones that are vanishing; these bees are quite different.
Apparently, in western Canada, a semi overturned. No big deal, right? No one was hurt and it wasn't carrying toxic waste so we don't need to worry about irradiated Canadian zombies wandering down south moaning, "Braiaaaaans...eh?"
No, this truck was just transporting 12 million honey bees.
You read that right; it's not a typo.
Twelve. Million.
The driver ran away from the crash site when the bees escaped and made his way to a telephone where he called the RCMP. The Mounties responded with a fire engine to mist the bees and several beekeepers to transport the still caged bees from the rolled over truck to another one.
Outside of a few bee stings, no one was hurt.
Can you imagine that? Twelve million angry bees. It sounds like a Sci-Fi Channel Saturday Night Movie: "Attack of the Killer Swarm!"
Hmm. Nothing much else to report, except that my Trek fic, posted on another site, is close to surpassing hits of any other Trek fic posted. Hee! I find that terribly amusing. :)
