Yesterday, I slept in my car.
No, I haven't suddenly become a homeless person. It was just, after being awake all night and all day, I was too fried to drive home straight away, so I climbed into the back of my car and took a nap. I also found out that my rear driver's side door doesn't work from the inside.
I was out for about an hour, before waking up, sweaty with an amonia taste in the back of my throat. Great, I thought. I'm going to get sick.
But I didn't.
I went home and hit the bed until the wee hours of Monday morning. Got up and went to the grocery store, where I did some latenight shopping and, a few hours later, went back to sleep.
Today, I'm up and feeling reasonably human.
I think I'm feeling better than most of my coworkers.
Everyone who had a three day weekend is in dire condition. Too much barbecue and beer, I suspect.
Ah well.
Now, I'm languishing in the Office of Solitude, at the Job of Doom, trying to stay cool. It's about 78 degrees outside and bloody hotter than that in here.
Who'd a thunk? We're actually having a real summer this year!
More later. - xoxo MEL
